(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 모경종 후보가 21일 인천시 서구 선거관리위원회에서 오는 4월 10일(사전투표일 4월 5일~5일)에 치러질 제22대 인천 서구 병(검단·아라·마전·원당·당하·불로대곡·오류왕길)국회의원 선거 후보자로 등록했다.

모경종 후보는 “2년 뒤 검단구로 거듭날 서구 병은 지역현안이 많아, 국회의원으로 해야 할 일이 많다”며, “지하철 5호선 연장안 인천시 원안유지 등 지역현안 해결을 위해 발이 닳도록 뛰겠다”며 각오를 밝혔다.

모 후보는 “새로운 검단을 만들 3대 공약으로 서울도시철도5호선 검단·김포 연장선의 인천시 원안 통과, 주민이 직접 검단에 필요한 정책을 만들 수 있는 가칭 검단시민비전위원회 설치, AI·코딩 인재를 육성하는 특성화고등학교 설립을 약속드린다”고 말했다.

또한 “이번 선거는 2년뒤 신설될 검단구의 새로운 시작을 만드는 선거”라면서 “새롭게 시작하는 검단에 걸맞는 실력과 열정을 겸비한 일꾼이 되어 보답드리고 싶다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 모경종 후보는 지난 13일 신동근 의원과 허숙정 의원을  과반 이상 득표하며 본선 진출을 확정지은 바 있다.
