(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 강화군이 지난 7일 교동대교 인근 CCTV 설치사업 현장을 방문해 추진 상황을 점검하고, 차질 없는 사업 추진을 당부했다고 밝혔다.

강화군에 따르면, 이번 사업은 접경지역 주민들이 출퇴근과 생업 활동 등 일상생활에서 겪어 온 이동 불편을 줄이고, 보다 편리한 출입 환경을 조성하기 위해 추진된다.

강화군은 이를 위해 지난 3월 관계기관과 출입 절차 개선을 위한 업무협약을 체결했으며, 군비 7억 원을 투입해 CCTV 기반의 비대면 확인 체계 구축에 속도를 내고 있다.

사업은 민통초소 4개소 일원을 대상으로 추진된다.

강화군은 CCTV 등 관련 장비를 설치해 주민 차량이 주요 지점을 통과할 때 불필요한 대기와 정차를 줄이고, 보다 신속하고 편리한 이동 환경을 조성할 계획이다.

또, 강화군은 해병대2사단과 지속적으로 협의하며 설치 공사와 운영 준비 상황을 점검하고 있으며, 시범운영을 통해 현장 적용성을 확인한 뒤 운영상 보완사항을 반영해 안정적인 비대면 출입 확인 체계를 구축해 나갈 방침이다.

박용철 군수는 현장에서 “이번 사업은 오랜 기간 접경지역 주민들이 겪어 온 이동 불편을 줄이고, 주민 생활 편의를 높이는 데 의미가 크다”며 “관광 활성화와 지역 여건 개선에도 긍정적인 효과가 기대되는 만큼, 현장에서 안전을 최우선으로 두고 사업이 차질 없이 추진될 수 있도록 만전을 기해달라”고 말했다.
