(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 오는 16일까지 미추홀구·동구·서구 소재 고등학교 10개교를 대상으로 대학생 멘토가 학교를 찾아가 전공을 소개하는‘학교로 찾아가는 대학생 진로 멘토단 전공 특강’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 특강은 대학에서 전공을 공부하는 선배의 생생한 이야기를 통해 학생들의 진로 인식을 넓히고 자기 주도적 진로 설계 역량을 키우기 위해 마련됐다.

멘토단은 인천 관내 고등학교를 졸업한 선배들이 참여했으며, 전공 분야는 국어국문학, 경제학, 초등교육학, 간호학, 약학, 컴퓨터공학, 에너지시스템공학 등 인문·사회, 교육, 자연과학, 공학, 의약·보건, 예체능 계열 등 다양하게 구성했다.

특강은 창의적 체험활동과 진로 수업 등 교육과정과 연계해 학교당 1시간씩 2회 운영되며, 학생은 학급 또는 그룹별로 서로 다른 두 개 전공을 탐색할 수 있다.

인천시교육청 관계자는“이번 특강이 학생들의 진로 인식을 넓히고 자기 주도적 진로 설계 역량을 키우는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 학교 현장으로 직접 찾아가는 진로 교육을 지속적으로 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Incheon Office of Education to Operate Major Special Lectures by University Student Career Mentors

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will operate the "University Student Career Mentor Team Major Special Lectures Visiting Schools," in which university student mentors visit 10 high schools located in Michuhol-gu, Dong-gu, and Seo-gu until the 16th to introduce various majors.

According to the Incheon Office of Education, this special lecture was organized to broaden students' career awareness and cultivate their capacity for self-directed career planning through vivid stories from seniors currently studying their majors at university.

The mentor group consists of alumni who graduated from high schools within Incheon. Their majors are diverse, ranging from humanities and social sciences, education, natural sciences, engineering, medicine and health, to arts and physical education, including Korean Language and Literature, Economics, Elementary Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Computer Engineering, and Energy Systems Engineering.

The special lectures are conducted twice per school for one hour each, linked to the curriculum such as creative experiential activities and career classes. Students can explore two different majors by class or group.
