도성훈 인천시교육감은 1일 학생, 학부모, 교직원, 시민, 교육 유관기관 및 지역사회 주요 인사 등 1,000여 명과 취임식 열고 주민직선 5기 첫 시작을 알렸다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 취임식은 '읽걷쓰AI로 학생성공시대 완성'을 주제로, 교육감의 지난 8년간의 성과와 미래 비전을 담은 영상, 학생, 학부모, 교직원, 시민이 전하는 ‘교육감에게 바란다’ 영상, ‘약속의 책' 전달, 취임 선서와 취임사, 학생과 교육공동체가 함께하는 합창 공연 순으로 진행했다.

특히,  학생과 학부모, 교직원, 시민의 바람을 담은 ‘약속의 책' 전달은 교육감이 교육공동체와의 약속을 다시 한번 되새기고 실천 의지를 다지는 의미를 담는 등 앞으로의 다양한 인천교육 방향을 공유했다.

또, 학생들로 구성한 온해피 하모니의 연주로 교육감, 교육공동체 대표, 학생들이 함께 합창곡 ‘꿈꾸지 않으면’을 노래했다.

도성훈 교육감은 “지난 8년간 인천교육은 학생 중심 교육을 바탕으로 의미 있는 변화를 만들어 왔다”며 "앞으로 ‘읽걷쓰AI'를 기반으로 학생 한 사람 한 사람의 성장을 지원하고, 학생성공시대를 완성해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.

이어 "학생의 꿈이 실현되고, 교직원이 보람을 느끼며, 학부모와 시민이 신뢰하는 인천교육을 만들기 위해 교육공동체와 함께 소통하고 협력하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 지난 1일 주민직선 5기 첫 공식 일정으로 인천신검단초등학교를 방문해 교육지원청 및 학교 관계자들과 과대과밀 학급 해소를 위한 간담회를 실시하고 교육환경을 점검했다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 점검은 과대·과밀로 어려움을 겪는 학교의 교육 여건을 살피고, 학생들이 안전하고 쾌적한 환경에서 학습할 수 있도록 하는 개선 대책을 마련하기 위해 실시했다.

도성훈 교육감은 신도시 일부 지역에서 발생하는 과밀학급 문제는 학생들의 학습권 및 교육의 질과 직결되는 만큼 새 임기 최우선 해결 과제로 판단하고 있다. 

도성훈 교육감은 이날 학교의 교실 환경 등을 점검하고 식당을 방문해 급식 상황을 둘러보며 학생들과 소통하는 시간을 보냈다.

도 교육감은 “과밀학급 해소를 위한 전용 예산을 적극 투입하고, 학교 신설 및 증축 등 필요한 사업을 속도감 있게 추진하겠다”며 “송도, 영종, 청라 등 지역별 여건에 맞는 환경개선을 추진해 학생들이 인천 어디에서든 질 높은 교육을 누릴 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

이어 “현장에서 답을 찾고 변화를 만들어 학생과 학부모가 직접적으로 체감하는 인천 교육을 실현하겠다”고 강조했다.
