(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 검단구의회가 2일, 제1대 검단구의회 전반기 의장으로 선출된 김남원(더불어민주당, 검단가) 의장이 취임 첫날부터 검단구의 최대 현안인 재정 문제 해결에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

검단구의회에 따르면, 김남원 의장은 지난 1일 오전 열린 제1회 임시회에서 검단구의회 초대 의장으로 선출된 직후, 검단구 출범에 필요한 조례안과 예산안을 처리하며 안정적인 행정서비스 제공을 위한 제도적 기반 마련에 힘을 쏟았다.

김 의장은 첫 공식 일정으로 서해구와 함께 '서해구·검단구 긴급 재정 대응 공동 TF' 기자회견에 참여하며 신설 자치구의 재정 안정과 주민 불편 최소화를 위한 공동 대응에 나섰다.

이번 공동 TF는 행정체제 개편 과정에서 발생한 재정 공백과 필수 예산 부족 문제에 대응하기 위해 구성됐다. 

양 자치구는 출범 초기 재정 여건을 면밀히 점검하고, 인천시와 중앙정부에 재정 지원을 공동 건의하는 등 안정적인 행정서비스 제공을 위한 협력체계를 구축해 나갈 계획이다.

앞서 김남원 의장은 의장 선거 정견 발표를 통해 "검단구의 안정적인 출범과 재정 기반 확보를 최우선 과제로 삼겠다"고 밝힌 바 있다. 이번 공동 TF 참여는 의장 취임 직후 첫 공식 일정으로, 구민과의 약속을 곧바로 실천에 옮긴 첫 행보라는 점에서 의미가 크다.

특히, 검단구의회가 개원 첫날 가장 먼저 재정 문제 해결에 나선 것은 신설 자치구의 성공적인 출범과 안정적인 행정서비스 제공을 위해서는 무엇보다 재정 안정이 우선되어야 한다는 인식에서 비롯된 것으로 평가된다.

김남원 의장은 "검단구의 첫 출발이 흔들림 없이 이어질 수 있도록 재정 기반을 안정적으로 마련하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다"며 "구민들이 행정서비스의 공백이나 불편을 겪지 않도록 의회가 책임 있는 역할을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.

이어 "구민의 삶과 직결된 문제를 가장 먼저 살피고 해결하는 것이 제1대 검단구의회의 책무"라며 "앞으로도 구민의 기대에 부응하는 책임 있는 의정활동을 펼쳐 나가겠다"고 말했다.

한편 '서해구·검단구 긴급 재정 대응 공동 TF'는 올해 말까지 운영되며, 양쪽 구청장이 공동 단장을 맡고 의회 의장이 공동 자문단장으로 참여한다.
