(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시의회가 1일 의회 본관 1층 중앙홀에서 ‘제10대 인천광역시의회 개원 기념 경축행사’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

인천시의회에 따르면, 이번 행사는 제10대 인천시의회 개원을 기념하고, 시민의 대표기관으로서 새롭게 출범하는 의회의 힘찬 출발을 지역 주요 인사들과 함께 축하하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 행사에는 제10대 인천시의회 의원, 역대 의장, 신승열 기획조정실장 등 인천시 주요 간부, 도성훈 교육감을 비롯한 교육청 주요 간부, 공사·공단 및 출자·출연기관 대표, 지역 언론사와 금융기관 대표, 의회사무처  간부공무원 등이 참석했다.

행사는 개회 및 국민의례를 시작으로 주요 내빈 소개, 의장 인사말씀, 축사, 개원기념 떡케이크 커팅, 건배제의, 다과 및 환담 등 순으로 진행됐다.

이 자리서 박종혁 의장은 “제10대 인천시의회의 개원은 단순히 새로운 의회의 시작이 아니라 더 큰 인천, 더 나은 미래를 향한 새로운 약속의 출발점”이라며 “시민의 뜻을 최우선 가치로 삼고 현장 중심의 책임 있는 의정을 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 말했다.

이어 “지금 인천은 행정체제 개편, 원도심 재생과 균형발전, 인천발 KTX와 광역교통망 구축, 바이오 국가전략산업과 AI 산업단지 육성 등 미래를 결정할 중요한 과제들을 마주하고 있다”며 “의회의 본연의 역할인 견제와 감시 기능을 충실히 수행하면서도 건전한 비판과 합리적인 대안을 제시하는 생산적인 의회를 만들어 가겠다”고 덧붙였다.

또한, 그는 “의원 개개인의 전문성과 정책 역량을 강화하고, 상임위원회 중심의 정책 의회를 구현해 시민이 체감하는 변화와 도시 경쟁력 향상이라는 실질적인 성과를 만들어 나가겠다”며 “제10대 인천시의회가 시민 행복과 지역 발전을 위한 든든한 동반자가 될 수 있도록 많은 관심과 성원을 부탁드린다”고 강조했다.

이날 참석자들은 제10대 인천시의회의 출범을 축하하고, 앞으로 4년간 시민 중심의 의정활동이 안정적으로 펼쳐질 수 있도록 협력과 지원을 다짐했다.
