(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 한국농수산식품유통공사(이하 aT)가 24일 한국행정학회 주관 ‘2026 공공기관 BP(Best Practice) 혁신사례 경진대회’에서 지역상생 혁신 분야 우수상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

aT에 따르면, ‘혁신사례 경진대회’는 공공부문 혁신사례 발굴·확산을 위해 정책정합성, 혁신성, 성과성, 확산성, 지속가능성의 5대 기준에 따라 종합적으로 평가해 공공기관 우수정책 사례를 선정했다.

aT는 농촌 고령화와 일자리 부족, 이주배경가정의 정착 어려움이라는 지역사회 문제를 하나의 해법으로 풀어낸 ‘손맛지킴이’ 사업으로 혁신성과 지역상생 가치를 동시에 인정받았다. 

이 사업은 은퇴 시니어의 풍부한 경험과 이주배경가정의 한국사회 정착지원을 결합한 구조로, 은퇴 시니어가 농촌 이주배경가정에 직접 방문해 제철 지역 농산물을 활용한 한식 요리법을 1대1로 전수하는 방식으로 운영됐다.

특히, 단순한 노무형 일자리 제공을 넘어, 시니어에게는 ‘멘토’와 ‘선생님’으로서의 역할을 부여해 자존감 회복에 기여하고, 이주배경가정에게는 한식 조리 실력 향상을 통한 한국사회 적응과 자신감 향상의 기회를 제공한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다. 

또한, 지역 농산물을 활용하여 지역경제 활성화 및 국산 농산물 소비기반 확대에도 기여했다.

홍문표 aT 사장은 “농촌 인구감소와 고령화, 이주배경가정의 사회적 고립이라는 현실적인 문제 속에서, 서로 다른 두 세대와 계층을 잇는 작은 시도가 의미있는 변화를 만들어냈다”며, “앞으로도 지역사회와 상생할 수 있는 혁신모델을 지속적으로 발굴해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, aT의 손맛지킴이 사업은 지역 문제해결 효과성과 확산성을 인정받아 전라남도혁신도시지원단으로부터 지자체-이전공공기관 연계 롤모델사업으로 선정됐다. 

향후 사업 대상지역과 참여인원을 단계적으로 확대시키는 등 농촌지역의 새로운 상생 모델로 발전시켜 나갈 계획이다.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (hereinafter aT) announced on the 24th that it won the Excellence Award in the Regional Co-prosperity Innovation category at the '2026 Public Institution BP (Best Practice) Innovation Case Competition' organized by the Korean Association of Public Administration (President Sung Si-kyung).

According to aT, the 'Innovation Case Competition' selected outstanding policy cases from public institutions by comprehensively evaluating them based on five major criteria—policy consistency, innovation, performance, scalability, and sustainability—to discover and disseminate innovation cases in the public sector.

aT was recognized for both its innovativeness and the value of regional co-prosperity through the ‘Sonmat Jikimi’ (Guardian of Hand Taste) project, which addressed local community issues such as rural population aging, job shortages, and the difficulties faced by families with immigrant backgrounds in settling down, by providing a single solution.

This project was structured to combine the rich experience of retired seniors with support for the settlement of families with immigrant backgrounds in Korean society. It operated by having retired seniors visit rural families directly to teach Korean cooking techniques using seasonal local produce on a one-on-one basis.

In particular, it received high praise for going beyond simply providing manual labor jobs. It contributed to restoring self-esteem for seniors by assigning them the roles of ‘mentors’ and ‘teachers,’ while providing families with immigrant backgrounds with opportunities to adapt to Korean society and boost confidence through improved Korean cooking skills.

Furthermore, by utilizing local produce, it contributed to revitalizing the local economy and expanding the consumer base for domestic agricultural products. 

Hong Moon-pyo, President of aT, stated, “Amidst realistic challenges such as rural population decline, aging, and the social isolation of families with immigrant backgrounds, a small attempt to bridge two different generations and social classes has created meaningful change.” He added, “We will continue to discover innovative models that can coexist with local communities.”

Meanwhile, aT’s ‘Handmade Taste Keeper’ project was selected by the Jeollanam-do Innovation City Support Group as a role model project linking local governments with relocated public institutions, in recognition of its effectiveness in solving local problems and its potential for scalability.

The plan is to develop this into a new model for coexistence in rural areas by gradually expanding the target regions and the number of participants.
