자료에서 15세이상인구 및 경제활동인구를 보면, 2026년 5월 15세이상인구는 275만 1천명으로 전년동월대비 4만 6천명(1.7%) 증가했다.

경제활동인구는 180만 6천명으로 전년동월대비 1만 7천명(0.9%) 증가했으며, 경제활동참가율은 65.6%로 전년동월대비 0.5%p 하락했다.

비경제활동인구는 94만 6천명으로 전년동월대비 3만명(3.2%) 증가했으며 성별로 보면, 남자는 34만 5천명으로 전년동월대비 1만 8천명(5.4%) 증가했으며, 여자는 60만 1천명으로 1만 2천명(2.0%) 증가했다.

취업자 동향에서 취업자 및 고용률을 보면, 2026년 5월 취업자는 174만 5천명으로 전년동월대비 1만 7천명(1.0%) 증가했다.

성별로 보면 남자는 98만명으로 전년동월대비 2천명(0.2%) 증가했으며, 여자는 76만 6천명으로 1만 5천명(2.0%) 증가했다.

고용률은 63.4%로 전년동월대비 0.5%p 하락했으며 성별로 보면, 남자는 71.9%로 전년동월대비 1.1%p 하락했으나, 여자는 55.1%로 0.2%p 상승했다.

15~64세 고용률(OECD 비교 기준)은 69.7%로 전년동월대비 0.2%p 하락했다.

산업 및 직업별 취업자에서 산업별 취업자의 전년동월대비 증감을 보면, 전기․운수․통신․금융업(2만명, 6.7%), 도소매․숙박․음식점업(3천명, 1.0%),건설업(1천명, 0.7%) 등에서 증가했으나, 사업․개인․공공서비스 및 기타(-8천명, -1.1%), 제조업(-1천명, -0.4%)에서 감소했다.

직업별 취업자의 전년동월대비 증감을 보면, 서비스․판매종사자(1만 4천명, 4.0%), 기능․기계조작․조립․단순종사자(1만 2천명, 2.0%) 등에서 증가했으나, 관리자․전문가(-1만 4천명, -3.4%), 사무종사자(0.2천명, -0.1%)에서 감소했다.

종사상 지위별 취업자에서 종사상 지위별로 전년동월대비 증감을 보면, 임금근로자는 2만 8천명(2.0%) 증가했으나, 비임금근로자는 1만 1천명(-3.2%) 감소했다.

임금근로자 중 상용근로자는 2천명(-0.2%) 감소했으나, 임시근로자는 1만 6천명(5.1%), 일용근로자는 1만 4천명(28.3%) 각각 증가했다.

비임금근로자 중 자영업자는 6천명(-1.9%), 무급가족종사자는 5천명(-15.9%) 각각 감소했다.

취업시간대별 취업자에서 취업시간대별 취업자의 전년동월대비 증감을 보면, 36시간 미만 취업자는 37만 8천명으로 1만 5천명(4.2%) 증가했고, 36시간 이상 취업자는 134만 8천명으로 1만명(0.7%) 증가했다.

주당 평균 취업시간은 38.7시간으로 전년동월대비 0.2시간 감소했다.

실업자 동향을 보면, 2026년 5월 실업자는 6만명으로 전년동월대비 1천명(-1.3%) 감소했다.

성별로 보면 남자는 3만 9천명으로 전년동월대비 5천명(13.9%) 증가했으나, 여자는 2만 2천명으로 6천명(-20.1%) 감소했다.

Looking at the year-on-year changes in the number of employed persons by working hours, the number of people working less than 36 hours increased by 15,000 (4.2%) to 378,000, while the number of people working 36 hours or more increased by 10,000 (0.7%) to 1,348,000.

The average weekly working hours were 38.7 hours, a decrease of 0.2 hours compared to the same month of the previous year.

Regarding trends in the unemployed, the number of unemployed persons in May 2026 was 60,000, a decrease of 1,000 (-1.3%) compared to the same month of the previous year.

By gender, the number of unemployed men was 39,000, an increase of 5,000 (13.9%) compared to the same month of the previous year, while the number of unemployed women was 22,000, a decrease of 6,000 (-20.1%).
