(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자)  인천시가 6일, 산업현장에서 탁월한 숙련기술을 보유하고 지역 산업 발전에 기여해 온 기술인을 발굴하기 위해 ‘2026년도 인천광역시명장’을 선정한다고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 시는 2017년부터 자동차정비, 표면처리, 제과·제빵, 미용 등 다양한 분야에서 숙련기술인을 발굴해 현재까지 총 17명의 명장을 배출했다.

올해는 총 37개 분야 85개 직종에서 직종별 1명 이내, 최대 10명까지 선정할 계획이다. 

다만 서류심사, 현장실사, 면접심사 등 엄정한 심사 과정을 거쳐 기준에 부합하는 인원만을 선발할 예정으로, 최종 선정 인원은 조정될 수 있다. 

신청 자격은 공고일 기준 인천광역시에 주민등록이 되어 있고, 지역 산업현장에서 15년 이상 종사한 경력을 갖춘 기술인이다. 

또, 해당 분야에서 뛰어난 숙련기술과 기술 발전에 기여한 실적을 갖추고 있어야 하며, 대한민국명장 또는 이에 준하는 동일 분야 수상 경력이 없는 경우에 한해 신청할 수 있다.

신청 접수는 오는 6월 1일부터 6월 19일까지 3주간 진행된다. 

신청을 희망하는 기술인은 인천시 누리집에 게시된 공고문을 확인한 후 지정된 신청서와 관련 서식을 작성해 군수‧구청장, 관내 기업체의 장, 관련 협회장, 중부지방고용노동청장, 인천지방중소벤처기업청장, 한국산업인력공단 인천지사장, 한국산업단지공단 인천지역본부장 중 한 곳의 추천을 받아 인천시 경제정책과로 제출하면 된다.

인천시는 서류심사와 현장실사, 면접심사를 거쳐 최종 심사위원회에서 명장을 선정하며, 결과는 오는 9월 중 발표할 예정이다.

최종 선정된 명장에게는 인증서와 인증패가 수여되며, 5년간 총 1,000만 원의 기술장려금이 지원된다. 

또한, 인천도시철도 인천시청역 중앙홀에 조성된 ‘명장의 전당’에 인물 부조가 설치되는 등 다양한 명예가 제공된다.
