(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 3일, 국가보훈부, 해군, 해병대와 공동으로 제75주년 인천상륙작전 기념주간 행사를 9월 12일부터 9월 18일까지 7일간 인천 전역에서 개최한다고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 올해 행사는 인천상륙작전의 역사적 교훈을 계승하고 참전용사의 희생을 기리며, ‘국제평화도시 인천’의 위상을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다. 

인천시는 ‘헌신으로 얻은 자유, 국제평화도시 인천’을 주제로 기억과 감사, 화합과 평화, 연대와 미래, 참여와 공감 등 4가지 테마로 행사를 구성했다.

인천시는 이번 기념주간을 통해 참전용사의 숭고한 희생을 기억하고, 자유와 평화를 지켜낸 헌신에 감사하는 시간을 마련한다. 

9월 9일 영흥도에서 X-RAY 작전 특수임무전사자 14위를 기리는 추모식을 시작으로, 9월 15일 자유공원과 월미공원에서 맥아더 장군 동상 헌화, 월미도 원주민 희생자 위령비 헌화, 해군 첩보부대 전사자 추모식 등 헌화·추모행사가 이어진다.

같은 날 내항 8부두 일대에서는 인천상륙작전 기념식이 열려 국내·외 참전용사와 해군·해병대 장병, 참전국 무관단, 시민 등 1,500여 명이 참석한다. 

기념식의 가장 큰 볼거리인 재연행사에서는 해군 상륙함과 고속상륙정, 해상작전헬기, 한국형 상륙돌격장갑차 등이 참여해 실제 작전을 방불케 하는 상륙작전을 선보인다. 

또 인천시는 최초 상륙지인 월미공원 그린비치에 한국을 비롯한 미국, 영국, 호주, 뉴질랜드, 캐나다, 프랑스, 네덜란드 등 8개 참전국과 참전용사의 희생과 헌신을 기리는 기념 조형물(높이 4.7m)을 제막한다.

특히, 이번 기념주간에는 맥아더 장군의 직계가족인 아서 맥아더 4세의 친서를 가지고 맥아더재단 특사단이 방문해 기념식과 추모행사에서 공식 친서와 메시지를 전달한다. 

인천시는 인천상륙작전의 역사적 의미를 공유하고 화합과 평화의 메시지를 전달하기 위해 다양한 문화행사를 준비했다. 

9월 7일 문학산 정상에서 평화의 선율을 울리는 문학산 음악회를 비롯해, 9월 12일부터 전쟁 속 희망을 그린 창작뮤지컬 ‘그 밤 불빛하나’가 부평아트센터와 인천중구문화회관에서 총 5회 공연된다.
