(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청이 10일, 제10대 오상권 청장이 취임했다고 밝혔다.

중부해경청에 따르면, 신임 오상권 청장은 화상회의를 시작으로 관내 해상치안 상황을 점검하고 현장 공백이 발생치 않도록 경계 강화를 주문하며, 청장의 업무를 시작했다.

상황점검회의에서 오상권 청장은“전남 여수 제22서경호 침몰사고 현장 구조지원에 최선을 다하고, 관내에서도 이러한 사고 예방을 위해 최선을 다해 달라”고 당부했다. 

오상권 청장은 경북 김천 출신으로 부경대를 졸업, 서강대 석사를 취득한 해양 전문가다.

1993년 경위(간부후보 41기)로 해양경찰에 입문한 후 서귀포, 인천, 부산해양경찰서장, 동해지방해양경찰청장, 제주지방해양경찰청장, 해양경찰청 경비국장, 해양경찰청 차장을 역임하는 등 해양에 대한 풍부한 현장경험과 전문성을 갖추고 있다는 평을 받고 있다.
