(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 수도권매립지관리공사(이하 공사)가 7일 인천 부평구 파인트리홈 아동복지시설에서 인천 공공기관 혁신네트워크와 함께 ‘지역 공부방 활성화 사업’ 현판식과 장학금 전달식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

공사에 따르면, ‘지역 공부방 활성화 사업’은 지역 소외아동의 정서 안정과 학습능력 향상을 위해 마련되었고, 사업 추진 과정에서 모집된 대학생 멘토에게는 사회공헌활동에 참여할 기회를 제공한다.

네트워크 참여기관은 이번 사업을 위해 4,200만 원의 공동기금을 조성하여 소외아동(10명) 학습·정서 안정 지원 미술 멘토링, 멘토 대학생(12명) 장학금 프로그램, 아동양육시설 공부방 개선을 추진한다.

송병억 수도권매립지관리공사 사장은 “지역 아이들에게 배움의 기회를 넓혀주고 꿈을 키울 수 있도록 지원하게 되어 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”며 “공사는 앞으로도 ESG 가치 기반의 인재 양성과 복지 사각지대 해소를 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”라고 말했다. 

한편,  인천 공공기관 혁신네트워크는 인천 지역 경제 활성화와 ESG 경영 확산을 위해 인천 소재 4개 공공기관(수도권매립지관리공사, 한국환경공단, 인천국제공항공사, 인천항만공사)으로 구성된 공공 협의체로 2020년부터 공동 협업사업을 지속 추진 중이다.
