(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구의회가 6일 제272회 임시회를 열어 을사년 새해 첫 임시회를 개회했다고 밝혔다. 

서구의회에 따르면, 이날 개회사에서 송승환 의장은 “분구를 앞두고 있는 서구가 성공적인 분구가 될 수 있도록 맡은 바 소임을 다하겠다.”며 “의정활동에 있어 구민의 목소리를 구정에 반영하고 전문성과 효율성을 한층 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다. 

회기 첫날인 6일 제1차 본회의에서는 2024회계연도 결산검사위원 선임의 건, 구정질문․답변에 따른 구청장 및 관계 공무원 출석 요구의 건, 서구․검단구 분구에 따른 기초의원 정수 확대 촉구 결의안 등을 상정했다. 

앞서 교섭단체 대표연설에서 송이 의원(더불어민주, 비례대표)은 “구민의 평온한 일상을 위한 노력들이 필요하다.”며 이를 위해 행정체제 개편에 따른 혼란을 최소화하고 분구 추진을 위한 상생의 노력이 필요하다고 강조했다. 

또한 예산 부족 문제를 비롯해 수도권 매립지․소각장 이전, 교통 인프라 혼잡 문제를 해결하기 위한 적극적인 노력을 주문했다. 

이어 홍순서 의원(국민의 힘, 바 선거구)은 “기본을 바로하면 길은 저절로 만들어진다는 ‘본립도생(本立道生)’을 인용하며 ”서구 경제와 민생 회복을 최우선 가치로 두고 오직 서구와 구민을 위한 한 해를 만들어가겠다.“고 다짐했다. 

홍 의원은 안정적인 일자리 확보, 취약계층에 촘촘한 복지 지원, 합리적인 분구 추진, 공정하고 합리적인 공직사회 문화 조성, 개발 사업 관리․감독 강화를 주요 과제로 제시했다.  

끝으로 김원진 의원은 구정에 관한 질문을 통해 2024년 행정사무감사에서 지적된 서구문화재단 직원 근태관리 및 인사평가 문제, 대표이사 비위에 대해 구청장의 답변을 청취했다. 

한편, 제272회 임시회는 12일간 진행되며, 오는 17일 제2차 본회의를 끝으로 마무리될 예정이다.
