(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시의회가 1일 제9대 후반기 2년을 이끌어 갈 의장이 정해권(국·연수1) 의원이 선출됐다 밝혔다.
인천시의회에 따르면, 1일 열린 ‘제296회 임시회’ 1차 본회의에서 후반기 의장 및 제1·2부의장 선거를 실시해 정해권 의장, 이선옥·이오상 제1·2부의장 등을 각각 선출했다.재적 의원 40명 중 38명이 출석한 가운데 투표용지에 의한 무기명(無記名) 투표 방식으로 진행된 이날 의장 선거에서 정해권 신임 의장은 총 36표(무효 2표)를 얻어 후반기 의장직을 수행하게 됐다.
제20대 대통령선거 국민의힘 선거대책본부 조직본부 인천특보단장을 역임한 정해권 신임 의장은 지난 2022년 7월 제9대 인천시의회 광역의원으로 입성해 전반기 산업경제위원회 위원장을 맡아 소관 기관들의 다양한 활동들을 살피며 발로 뛰는 의정활동을 펼쳤다.
또 그는 인천광역시씨름협회 회장, 인천지구 JC 지구회장, 민주평통자문회의 연수구협의회 부회장 등을 역임한 후 현재는 국민의힘 연수갑 당협위원회 상임부위원장, 국민의힘 인천광역시당 지역대표 전국위원 등으로 활동하고 있다.
