(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천시가 25일 ‘제1회 부천시 문화예술대상’ 수상자로 박희주(65세) 작가를 선정했다고 밝혔다.

부천시에 따르면, 부천시문화예술대상은 향토문화 창달과 지역 문화 발전에 공헌한 사람에게 수여하며, 1983년부터 121명의 수상자를 선정한 역사를 지닌 상이다. 

올해 5월에는 관련 조례인 ‘부천시 문화예술 진흥 조례’를 개정하여 격년으로 7개 부분을 별도로 선정하던 상을 매년 1명씩 선정하는 것으로 개선하여 상의 권위와 품격을 높였다.

제1회 부천시문화예술대상 선정을 위해 지난 7월 24일부터 8월 14일까지 후보자를 접수했으며, 미디어콘텐츠, 공연, 음악, 미술 등 문화예술분야의 교수와 문화예술기관 및 단체장으로 구성된 부천시 문화예술위원회에서 공정한 심의를 거쳐 최종 선정했다.

수상자인 박희주 씨는 30여 년 이상 부천에 거주하면서 10여 권의 시와 소설집을 출간하였고, 중편소설 ‘13월의 여인’으로 제46회 한국소설문학상을, 소설집 ‘절벽과 절벽 사이를 흐르는 강’으로 제8회 박종화문학상을 수상했다. 

(사)한국문인협회부천지부 회장, 문학창의도시 운영위원, 부천 디아스포라문학상 운영위원을 역임하면서 부천의 문학과 유네스코 문학창의도시 발전에 기여한 공이 크다. 

또, (사)한국작가회의가 주최하는 작은서점 지원사업 상주작가로서 소설창작교실 등 프로그램을 통해 부천시민들의 문학 진흥을 위해 노력하고 있다. 

한편, ‘제1회 부천시 문화예술대상’수상자에 대한 시상은 오는 10월 열리는 ‘부천시 50주년 시민의 날 기념식’에서 진행할 예정이다.

Bucheon City announced on the 25th that it had selected artist Park Hee-ju (65 years old) as the winner of the ‘1st Bucheon City Culture and Arts Awards.’

According to Bucheon City, the Bucheon City Culture and Arts Award is given to those who have contributed to the development of local culture and regional culture, and is an award with a history of selecting 121 winners since 1983.

In May of this year, the related ordinance ‘Bucheon City Culture and Arts Promotion Ordinance’ was revised and the award was improved from selecting seven categories separately every other year to selecting one person each year, thereby enhancing the authority and dignity of the award.

To select the 1st Bucheon City Culture and Arts Awards, candidates were accepted from July 24th to August 14th, and the Bucheon City Culture Committee, comprised of professors and heads of culture and arts organizations and organizations in the field of culture and arts such as media content, performance, music, and art, The final selection was made by the Arts Committee after a fair deliberation.

The winner, Park Hee-joo, has lived in Bucheon for over 30 years and published about 10 poetry and novel collections. She is also a writer-in-residence for a small bookstore support project hosted by the Korean Writers' Conference, and she is working to promote literature among Bucheon citizens through programs such as novel writing classes.
