(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 법무부 인천보호관찰소가 지난 19일 추석 명절을 맞아 장수서창행정복지센터, 남동농협과 함께 인천시 남동구 장수천 주변 농촌마을에서 환경정화 사회봉사 활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.
인천보호관찰소에 따르면, 이번 봉사활동은 법원으로부터 사회봉사명령을 받은 대상자 7명이 인천보호관찰소, 장수서창행정복지센터, 남동농협 직원들과 함께 인천 남동구 장수천 농촌마을 일대에 방치되어 마을 경관을 해치는 폐기물 등을 수거하는 환경정비 활동을 실시했다.
장수천 일대 농가주는 “수확철을 맞아 일손이 부족한 가운데 봉사자들의 손길로 마을 환경이 깨끗해졌다”며 감사의 뜻을 밝혔다.
이번 행사에 참여한 사회봉사 대상자 유모씨는 “마을 정비를 통해 깨끗해진 환경을 보고 기뻐하는 주민들을 보며 정말 큰 보람을 느꼈다.”고 소감을 밝혔다.
인천보호관찰소는 앞으로도 지역 시민을 위한 봉사활동을 적극적으로 펼칠 계획이다.
