(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구 아라동이 14일 지난 9월 12일 서구 관내 최초 단일 행정동으로서 인구 6만 명을 돌파했더 고밝혔다.

서구에 따르면,  이는 지난 2021년 6월 아라동 행정복지센터 개청 이후 약 2년 3개월 만에 달성한 기록이다.

아라동은 검단신도시개발 활성화로 높은 인구 증가율을 보이며 검단지역은 물론 인천 서구 지역 인구 증가의 견인차 역할을 톡톡히 하고 있는 중이다. 

또, 검단신도시는 신규 입주 아파트가 대다수 밀집되어 있는 지역인 만큼 많은 행정수요에 따라 신규 입주 시 필요한 행정 절차들을 담은 안내문을 적극적으로 배포하고 있다.
