(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 12일부터 오는 10월 3일까지 추석 연휴 해양안전사고 예방활동을 강화한다고 밝혔다.

인천해경에 따르면, 이번 추석 연휴는 코로나 엔데믹 이후 처음 맞는 명절이라 여객선 및 도선을 이용하는 귀성객이 평소보다 많을 것으로 예상된다.

이에 인천해경은 해양안전관리 특별대책을 수립해 추석을 맞아 고향을 방문하는 귀성객과 바다를 찾는 관광객들이 안전하고 즐거운 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 선제적으로 대응할 방침이다.

해양안전관리 특별대책으로는 연안사고 위험구역 육·해상 합동 안전순찰 강화, 다중이용선박 항로 경비함정 배치 및 안전관리, 무면허·주취운항·안전장비 미착용 등 안전위해사범 집중 단속이 있다.

또한, 인천해경은 인천지방해양수산청, 한국해양교통안전공단, 국민안전현장관찰단과 함께 여객선 및 유·도선 등을 대상으로 합동점검을 실시할 예정이다.

인천해경 관계자는 “추석 연휴 동안 많은 사람들이 바다를 찾을 것으로 보인다”며 “국민이 편안하고 안전한 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 해양안전관리에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
