(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구 구립도서관이 7일 ‘2023년 책 읽는 부평’ 올해의 대표 도서로 ‘튜브’를 선정했다고 밝혔다.

부평구에 따르면, 올해의 대표도서로 선정된 ‘튜브’(손원평 지음, 창비, 2022)는 지난해 8월부터 구민들에게 온라인 추천을 받아 세 달간의 온·오프라인 구민투표를 거쳤다.

‘튜브’는 50년 가까운 세월 동안 끊임없이 사업을 벌이고 주저앉는 일을 반복해온 남자가 어떻게든 자신의 삶을 일으켜 세우고 변화를 시도하는 과정을 통해 인생을 회복해나가는 인물의 눈물겨운 분투기를 담았다.

화제의 데뷔작 ‘아몬드’(창비, 2017)로 100만 독자의 사랑을 받은 작가 손원평은 ‘믿고 읽는’ 작가라는 타이틀을 넘어 전 세계, 전 세대 독자들에게 널리 읽히며 한국문학의 장을 매 순간 새롭게 열어가고 있다.

또한, 부평구 문화재단이 오는 13일부터 2023년 상반기 연극학교 ‘이야기가 된 아이들’ 참여자를 선착순 모집한다고 밝혔다.

재단에 따르면, 이번 상반기 연극학교는 이야기를 극적으로 체험하는 ‘과정 드라마형 연극놀이’로 진행한다.

‘이야기가 된 아이들’은 참여자들이 조각난 단서를 통해 이야기를 유추하고, 그 이야기 속으로 여행을 떠나게 된다.

참여하는 아이들은 다른 사람과 비교할 수 없는 유일한 나를 만나 자존감을 높이고, 낯선 것들을 연결해 새로운 의미를 만들 예정이다.

프로그램 1기는 오는 3월 11일부터 4월 15일까지, 2기는 5월 13일부터 6월 24일까지 각 6회차 씩 2기수로 나눠 매주 토요일 부평생활문화센터에서 진행한다.
