명절에 선거법을 위반한 주요 사례는 조합장선거 입후보예정자가 본인 명의의 추석 인사문을 동봉해 총 650만 원 상당의 굴비선물세트를 조합원 등 215명에게 택배로 발송·제공한 행위,  관내 경로당과 노인정 등에 명절 인사 명목으로 과일·선물 등을 제공하는 행위,  국회의원이 의원사무소를 방문하는 선거구민에게 기념품·선물을 제공하는 행위,  선거구민 등을 대상으로 귀향·귀경버스를 무료로 제공하거나, 대합실 등에서 다과·음료 등을 제공하는 행위 등이 있다.
