(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 전국시도교육감협의회 조희연 회장(서울특별시교육감, 이하 협의회)이 지난 4일 신년사 발표를 통해 지난해 활동에 대한 소회를 밝히며 함께 힘써 준 교육가족들에게 감사한 마음을 표하고 2023년 계묘년 전국시도교육감협의회의 새로운 비전과 포부를 밝혔다.
 

신년사에 따르면, 우리 아이들을 위한 교육예산을 지켜내겠다며 교육예산(지방교육재정교부금)의 안정적인 확보를 위한 교육감 특별위원회와 공동대책위원회의 대응과 노력에도 불구하고 예산의 일부가 삭감되었지만, 정치권에 유・초・중등교육과 고등교육이 상생, 공존할 수 있는 해법을 찾도록 지속적으로 요구할 것이다.

교육감 선거 제도는 교육자치를 훼손하는 방향에서 논의되어서는 안된다며 러닝메이트제는 현행 교육감 선거 과정에서 나타난 일부 문제들을 해결하기 위한 대안이 될 수 없으며, 오히려 학생을 교육을 생각하기보다 정당과 정치권에 줄서기를 조장하고 교육의 자주성과 전문성, 정치적 중립성을 심각하게 훼손시킬 수 있다는 우려를 표한다.
