인천시, 폭염 대책 추진‘총력’
그늘막 등 1천655개, 무더위 쉼터 1천142개소 등 운영

(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 평년보다 높은 온도가 지속될 것으로 예상됨에 따라 오는 9월 30일까지 폭염 대책기간을 정하고 폭염 대비에 집중한다는 계획이다.


폭염으로 인한 시민 불편과 피해를 최소화하기 위한 조치다.


인천시는 관계부서, 군·구와 함께 폭염 특보 단계에 맞춰 유기적 비상근무 체계를 운영하고, 소관 분야별 폭염 대응활동을 집중 추진할 계획이다.


우선, 열섬현상 완화를 위해 폭염저감시설 총 1천655개소를 운영한다.


군·구별 지역여건과 시민의 수요를 반영해 횡단보도 앞 그늘막 뿐만 아니라 쿨루프, 쿨링포그 등 다양한 시설물 총 197개소를 추가 설치해 시민들이 잠시나마 더위를 잊을 수 있도록 한다.


도로에서는 군·구가 보유하고 있는 살수차 26대외에 추가로 임차해 폭염 특보 시 살수작업을 해 도로열기를 식힐 계획이다.


또, 코로나19로 인해 그간 운영이 제한됐던 무더위 쉼터도 적극 개방한다.
 

올해는 총 1천142개소(실내 978개소, 실외 164개소)를 운영할 계획인데, 지난해 872개보다 270개나 늘어난 규모다.


특히, 일부 금융기관의 협조를 얻어 관내 지점 무더위 쉼터를 지난해 보다 확대 운영하기로 했다.


무더위 쉼터에는 양산 등 더위를 식힐 수 있는 물품을 대여·제공하는 등 쉼터별로 상황에 맞게 적극적으로 운영한다.
