(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 유네스코 문학 창의도시, 부천시가 ‘2023 부천디아스포라문학상(영문 명칭 Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award, 이하 문학상)’ 수상작 선정을 위해 시민들을 대상으로 후보작을 추천받는다.

문학상의 핵심 주제인 ‘디아스포라’는 ​민족적, 지역적 정체성을 넘어 살고 있던 장소를 벗어나 삶의 터전을 확장해나간 인류의 활동​을 총칭하는 말로, 본 문학상은 이들의 이야기를 문학으로 승화시킨 작품을 대상으로 한 국제문학상이다.

문학상 후보작으로는 자천(自薦)과 절판된 작품을 제외하고 한국어나 영어로 출판된 현존 작가의 디아스포라 주제 장편소설이면 누구나 좋아하는 작품 1편을 추천할 수 있다.

추천자는 ‘후보작 추천서’를 작성하여 5월 23일부터 7월 8일까지 문학상 공식 홈페이지(작품추천)를 통해 접수하면 된다.

접수된 작품은 학계와 문학계 전문가로 구성한 추천위원회와 심사위원회 심사를 거쳐 최종 1편이 수상작으로 선정되며, 수상작을 집필한 작가와 번역가에게는 상패와 함께 부상으로 상금(작가 5,000만 원, 번역가 1,000만 원)을 수여한다.

시상식은 2023년 10월에 개최할 예정이며 자세한 사항은 문학상 공식 홈페이지를 통해 확인할 수 있다.

또한, 부천시는 대중에게 생소한 ‘디아스포라’의 의미를 널리 알리기 위해 누구나 쉽고 재밌게 접할 수 있는 숏폼 콘텐츠와 스낵컬처 시리즈 등을 문학상 홈페이지 및 인스타그램, 유튜브에 게시하고 있다.

제1회 문학상 수상작인 <자유로운 삶>의 하진 작가는 “이 상은 상징적인 의미가 있습니다. 본질적으로 우리는 모두 디아스포라이기 때문이지요. 우리는 자신의 집을 짓고 자신의 삶의 의미를 찾기 위해 다른 곳으로 가야만 합니다”면서“저는 정말 진심으로 이 상을 받게 된 것을 감사하게 생각합니다. 이 상은 정말 독특하고 상징적인 의미를 지닌 상입니다”고 본 문학상의 의미를 평가했다.

한편, 2022 부천디아스포라문학상은 심사위원회 심사(본심사) 중이며 오는 7월에 최종후보작(shortlist)를 공개하고 10월에 수상작 발표와 함께 시상식을 개최할 예정이다.

As a literary award nominee, anyone can recommend one favorite work if it is a diaspora-themed novel by an existing author published in Korean or English, except for works that are self-published and out of print.

Recommenders can fill out the 'Recommendation for Nominations' and submit them through the official website of the Literary Awards (work recommendation) from May 23 to July 8.
