(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청(청장 김병로)이 청렴한 공직 사회를 만들기 위해 5월 19일부터 발효되는 ‘공직자의 이해충돌방지법’ 시행을 앞두고 준비에 최선을 다하고 있다.

이해충돌방지법은 공직자의 직무수행과 관련하여 사적 이익 추구를 금지함으로써 공무원의 공정한 직무수행을 보장하고, 공공기관에 대한 국민의 신뢰를 확보하기 위해 시행되는 법률이다.

중부지방해양경찰청은 공직자의 이해충돌방지법 이행을 강력히 추진하기 위해 이해충돌방지담당관 지정 및 운용, 차질 없는 이해충돌방지 제도 준비를 위한 사전 교육, 감찰 활동을 통한 이해충돌방지제도 준수 여부 확인, 제도에 대한 자체 홍보 활동 강화 등을 추진하고 있다.

이에 따라 중부지방해양경찰청은 지난 5월 9일 김병로 청장 주관으로  전 직원을 대상으로 한 이해충돌방지법 시행에 따른 사전 교육을 실시한 바 있다.

공직자의 이해충돌방지법 시행에 따라 공직자는 사적 이해관계자에 신고 및 회피 기피 신청, 공공기관 직무 관련 보유 매수 신고 등의 5가지 신고 제출 의무를 이행해야 하며, 직무 관련 외부 활동 제한, 수의 계약 제한 등 5가지 제한 금지 의무에 대한 준수 의무가 있다.

중부지방해양경찰청 관계자는 “공직자의 이해충돌방지법 시행에 따라 사전 교육 실시, 제도에 대한 자체 홍보 활동, 이행 여부에 대한 감찰 활동 강화 등의 실행 계획을 철저히 수행할 방침이다”고 설명했다.
