(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시계양구선거관리위원회가 제20대 대통령선거와 제8회 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 정당·입후보예정자 등이 설 명절 인사 명목의 명절 선물을 유권자에게 제공하는 등의 위법행위가 발생할 우려가 있어 예방·단속활동을 강화한다.
 

우선 정당·국회의원·지방자치단체장·지방의회의원·입후보예정자 및 관련 기관·단체 등에게 관련 법규와 주요 위반사례를 적극 안내하여 법을 몰라 위반하는 일이 없도록 사전 예방활동에 주력하되, 사전 안내에도 불구하고 위법행위가 발생하는 경우 고발 등 엄중하게 조치할 방침이다.
 

또한, 금품이나 음식물 등을 제공받은 사람에게는 최고 3천만 원의 범위에서 50배 이하의 과태료를 부과하되, 자수한 사람에게는 사안에 따라 과태료를 감면해 주고, 위법행위 신고자에게는 최고 5억 원의 포상금도 지급한다고 밝혔다.
 

명절에 선거법을 위반하여 조치된 주요 사례로는 ▲입후보예정자가 선거구민 290여 명에게 김 세트 제공 ▲입후보예정자가 선거구민 7명에게 주류, 생활용품 세트 제공 ▲지방의회의원이 선거구민 등 78명에게 한라봉 84박스 제공 등이 있다.
 
계양구선관위는 설 연휴기간 중에도 선거법 위반행위 신고·접수 체제를 유지한다면서 위법행위를 발견하면 전국 어디서나 1390번으로 신고해 줄 것을 당부했다.
