(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청 서해5도특별경비단(이하‘서특단’, 단장 김종인)이 관할해역에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 해양사고 예방 및 신속한 대응을 위한 경비함정 현장점검을 실시했다.
 

김종인 서특단장은 20일 전용부두에 정박중인 500톤급 경비함정을 방문해 해양사고에 대비한 긴급출동 대응태세를 비롯해, 함정에 탑재된 각종 구조장비 작동상태 등을 중점적으로 점검했다.
 

또한, 경비함정 승조원들과의 간담회를 통해 함정 자체사고 방지를 위한 안전수칙 및 코로나19 예방을 위한 방역수칙을 철저히 준수해 줄것과, 설 연휴를 앞두고 주요비위 예방 교육을 통한 공직기강 확립을 강조했다.
 

김종인 서특단장은 현장점검에서 “최근 전국에서 연이어 발생하고 있는 안전사고와 관련하여 전 부서에서 관심을 가지고 상시 취약시설 점검을 통한 안전사고를 사전에 예방하고, 설 연휴 기간 중 발생할 수 있는 해양사고에 대비하여 긴급대응 태세를 유지하겠다”고 밝혔다.
 

한편, 서특단은 설 연휴 기간 중 해양사고 예방을 위해 서해5도를 운항하는 여객선들의 운항항로에 경비함정을 근접배치하고, 도서지역 연안사고에 대비하기 위한 순찰활동도 더욱 강화할 계획이다.
