(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 국회교육문화포럼(공동대표 안민석‧최강욱)이 지난 2일 국회에서 서동용·안민석·윤영덕·이탄희·최강욱 국회의원실, 한국교육학술정보원(이하 KERIS)와 함께 ‘미래세대를 위한 AI교육 추진 성과와 성공 전략 국회 토론회’를 개최했다.


토론회는 대한민국 AI 교육 현주소와 나아가야 할 미래를 살펴보고 실제 우수 사례를 통해 AI 교육의 청사진을 제시할 수 있도록 인공지능과 교육 분야 전문가들의 발표와 토론 형식으로 진행됐다.


먼저 유은혜 교육부 장관과 김진경 국가교육회의 의장, 최교진 전국시도교육감협의회 회장이 축사를 통해 AI 교육의 중요성을 강조했다.


이어 ‘AI 교육의 필요성과 교육의 미래’라는 주제로 김현철 고려대학교 교수의 발표를 시작으로, ▲정광훈 KERIS AI빅데이터부 부장의 ‘초중등 AI 교육 추진 전략’,   최종원 충남교육청 장학사의 ‘AI 교육 지역 현황 및 우수사례’, 윤진석 서라벌고등학교 교사의 ‘AI 교육중심고교 정책의 의미와 효과’라는 주제로 발표했다.


주제 발표 이후에는 김한일 제주대학교 교수가 좌장으로 앞선 발표 주제에 대한 종합 토론이 진행됐다.


패널위원으로 교육부 이강복 미래교육추진담당 국장, 정웅열 백신중학교 교사(한국정보교사연합회 회장), 김재현 성균관대학교 교수, 오지석 대구광역시교육청 장학사가 함께 참여하여 지정 및 자유형식으로 대한민국 AI 교육의 추진 성과와 성공 전략에 대한 토론을 펼쳤다.


주제 강연자인 김현철 고려대학교 교수는 “AI 기술의 발전 속도와 국내외 AI 교육 동향을 고려하면 현재 교육정책으로는 역부족이다”라며, “미래세대를 위한 공교육이 책임을 다하기 위해서는 초‧중학교에서 다양한 AI 경험과 사고력 중심의 AI 교육을 강화해야 한다”라고 말했다.


행사를 주최한 안민석 국회교육문화포럼 대표는 “인공지능 교육은 선택이 아니라 필수이자 생존의 문제”라며 “모든 학생이 사교육 없이도 AI 교육을 체계적으로 받을 수 있도록 교육부 주도 범정부 AI 교육 실무 TF 구성, AI 교육 국가표준인증제 연구 및 개발, 권역별 민관학 협력 AI 교육 시범도시 육성, AI 교육 국가중앙지원센터 설립 및 체험교육 프로그램 확대, 인공지능교육진흥법 제정 등  5가지 개선 방안을 제시한다”고 밝혔다.


한편, 이번 토론회는 국회의원, 교육부, 국가교육회의, KERIS 등에서 참석했으며, 코로나19 방역 상황을 감안하여 유투브 ‘안민석 TV’를 통해 생중계했다.
