The Central Coast Guard's Seo Special Forces will launch a stronger crackdown during the full-fledged spring season in April.
Establish a cooperation system to strengthen the crackdown on illegal fishing with related organizations such as the Navy's 2nd Fleet and to ensure fishing activities of West Sea 5th fishermen

The Central District Maritime Police Agency's Seohae 5-Do Special Guard Group (hereinafter referred to as “Seo Special Group”) is working harder than ever to crack down and evict Chinese ships in the West Sea NLL waters in March this year.

Chinese ships operating in the West Sea NLL waters averaged 30 to 40 ships per day in March 19, and 10 to 20 ships in March 20, but more than 100 ships per day in March this year. About 70-80% of Chinese ships flocked to Yeonpyeong Island, the main crab fishing area.

Since last February, the Seo Special Force has been conducting intensive physical training and crackdown tactics training for the personnel of the Marine Special Forces who are engaged in crackdown operations.Since March, 6 ships, including guard ships and medium-sized special maneuvers, have been preempted in the West Sea 5 provinces. As enemies, they have been deployed at all times to respond to illegal fishing Chinese lines.

As a result, in March of this year, Seodeokdan captured 1 illegal Chinese ship in the NLL waters of the West Sea and removed 186 ships.

Seodeokdan said that the number of Chinese ships will increase in April, when the full-fledged blue crab fishing season begins, and plans to strengthen the crackdown through more aggressive seizure activities by placing additional security ships in the NLL waters of the West Sea.

Before and after the crackdown, the capture is conducted while strict compliance with the quarantine guidelines, and even after the capture, the influx of Corona 19 is blocked at the source through corona 19 inspection, fishing vessel quarantine, and separate investigation space for all crew members.

In addition, on the 30th, a cooperative system was established with related organizations such as the Navy's 2nd Fleet to strengthen the crackdown on illegal fishing and to ensure safe fishing activities for fishermen in the West Sea.

An official from the Seo Special Corps said, "We will do our best to protect fish stocks in the West Sea 5 islands and support safe fishing for our fishing vessels through aggressive illegal fishing crackdowns."
