Ventilation Won, the Egyptian Defense Industry Agency's visit to Korea to discuss the follow-up project of environmental plant facilities worth about 20 billion won
Last year's project worth KRW 1 billion won Project status check and delivery facility inspection
-Reporter Park Sang-do, Break News Incheon

On the 25th, a visitor from the Defense Industry Administration, including the Director of the Egyptian Defense Industry Administration Moner Helal, visited the small and medium-sized environmental company JST Co., Ltd. plant located in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do.

JST Co., Ltd. is a company that produces environmental plants that convert waste into fuel, and received an overseas project feasibility study support from the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute and won an order for the installation of a waste sorting facility in Egypt worth KRW 10.1 billion last year.

Officials from the Egyptian Defense Industry Agency, which is the client, visit Korea for about a week even when business trips are difficult due to Corona 19 to check the progress of the project and inspect the delivery facilities.

In particular, this visit to Korea is more meaningful as a meeting to discuss follow-up projects worth about 20 billion won.

Director Moner Heral, who visited the JST Co., Ltd. plant, inspected the environmental plant facilities and discussed business contracts. In particular, he showed great interest in the 700 horsepower crusher and the vibrating and hitting force sorting machine.

Jeong Hyeon-gyu, CEO of JST Co., Ltd., responded that such crushing and sorting technology is the only technology in Asia as well as in Korea, and said that through this installation, the optimized waste treatment technology in Egypt could be experienced.

“Through this due diligence, I gained confidence in the facilities designed and manufactured by JST. He said he will begin discussions for further installations in Egypt as soon as possible.”

Egypt produces 26 million tons of domestic and industrial waste per year due to population growth and urbanization, but only about 12% of them are recycled.

Accordingly, the Egyptian government has established a basic waste management plan and is striving to turn waste into resources such as expanding waste treatment facilities, so the prospect of Korean companies entering the Egyptian waste market is positive.

As the Korean government recently selected Egypt as a key partner, cooperation projects between the two countries are expected to increase in the environmental field.

Accordingly, the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute plans to strengthen the overseas expansion support project of promising environmental companies in Korea to help pioneer overseas markets, and invite promising project owners to Korea to actively promote the excellence of domestic environmental technologies, such as this visit to Egypt.

As part of this, Je-cheol Yoo, head of the Environmental Industry Technology Institute, visited JST Co., Ltd. on the 23rd to check the facilities being prepared for export and listen to the status of the company, providing close support on-site.

Director Yoo Je-cheol said, "We will use the ODA fund to strengthen cooperation projects this year by establishing an action plan to convert waste to energy with the Egyptian Ministry of Environment."
