(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 경인지방통계청에 2일, 최정수(57세) 전 통계개발원 연구기획실장이  제6대 경인지방통계청장으로 취임해 본격적인 업무를 시작했다.

최정수 신임 청장은 1998년 박사 사무관으로 특별채용된 이후 통계청 대변인, 산업동향과장, 통계정책과장, 경제통계기획과장 등 통계청의 요직을 두루 거친 경제통계 분야 전문가이다.

취임식을 생략한 채 바로 업무 파악에 들어간 최 청장은 “정확하고 신뢰받는 고품질 국가통계 생산, 수도권 특성에 맞는 지역통계 개발과 통계서비스로 경인지역 통계허브 역할을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

또한, “코로나19 확산 등 조사환경 변화에 따라 IT 기술을 활용한비대면조사, 행정자료 활용 확대 등으로 통계조사 효율성을 높이고, 지역정책에 도움되는 맞춤형 통계 개발에 힘쓰겠다”고 강조했다.  

경인지방통계청 직원들에게는 “구성원의 역량이 충분히 발휘되고 존중받을 수 있는 근무환경, 자유롭게 소통하는 조직문화를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
