미세먼지 신호등은 대기오염측정소의 센서를 통해 실시간으로 설치현장의 미세먼지오염도를 측정하여 대기오염 상태를 초등학생들이 쉽게 알아볼 수 있도록 4가지 색깔의 캐릭터 표정으로 나타낸다.
파랑은 좋음(0~15㎍/㎥), 초록은 보통(16~35㎍/㎥), 노랑은 나쁨(36~75㎍/㎥), 빨강은 매우 나쁨(76㎍/㎥~)을 의미한다.
계양구 관계자는 “건강 취약계층인 어린이들이 미세먼지 신호등을 통해 미세먼지 농도를 쉽게 확인하고 야외활동 자제, 마스크 착용 등 미세먼지 농도에 따라 적극 대응할 수 있기를 기대한다”며, “앞으로도 주민들의 건강을 위해 정확한 미세먼지 정보를 신속히 제공할 수 있도록 미세먼지 신호등을 확대 설치하겠다”고 밝혔다.
