(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 지난 24일 인천항 영종도 앞 해상에서 대규모 해양오염사고 대응역량 강화를 위한 2026년 민·관·군 합동 해상방제훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

인천해경에 따르면, 이번 훈련은 선박 간 충돌로 유조선으로부터 대규모 기름 유출 상황을 가정하여 긴급 배출 방지, 신속한 오일펜스 설치를 통한 확산방지 및 유회수기를 이용한 해상유출유 회수조치를 중점적으로 실시했다.

인천항은 기름 및 위험유해물질 저장시설이 다수 분포하고있어 대형원유선 입출항이 빈번한 해역으로 재난적 원유사고 위험이 상당히 높은 해역이다. 

인근 어장·양식장, 발전소 취수구 등 자원 보호에 따른 신속한 방제를 위해 민·관·군 합동으로 방제팀워크를 점검하는데 초점을 두었다.

훈련에는 해경, 인천해수청, 해군, 해양환경공단, SK인천석유화학 등 8개 기관·단 업체 150여명이 참가하고, 선박 16척, 오일펜스 600m, 유회수기 1대가 동원 됐다.

양종타 인천해양경찰서장은 “실효성 있는 해상방제훈련을 통해 민관군 합동 사고대응체계를 더욱 강화하여 국민과 함께 깨끗한 해양환경을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Incheon Coast Guard announced that it conducted the 2026 joint civil-military-government maritime oil spill response training on the 24th in the waters off Yeongjongdo, Incheon Port, to strengthen response capabilities for large-scale marine pollution accidents.

According to the Incheon Coast Guard, this training simulated a scenario involving a large-scale oil spill from an oil tanker due to a collision between vessels. The training focused on measures such as preventing emergency discharge, preventing spread through the rapid installation of oil booms, and recovering spilled oil using oil recovery equipment.

Incheon Port is a sea area with a significantly high risk of catastrophic crude oil accidents, as it is a region with frequent entry and exit of large crude oil tankers due to the distribution of numerous oil and hazardous substance storage facilities. 

The focus was on checking joint civilian-government-military oil spill response teamwork to ensure rapid response in order to protect resources, such as nearby fishing grounds, aquaculture farms, and power plant water intakes.

Approximately 150 personnel from eight agencies and organizations, including the Korea Coast Guard, Incheon Regional Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Navy, the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, and SK Incheon Petrochemical, participated in the exercise. Sixteen vessels, 600 meters of oil booms, and one oil skimmer were mobilized.
