aT and Eximbank Sign Agreement to Expand K-Food Exports... Linking One-Stop Export Support Hub and Financial Support

The Korea Agro-Fisheries Food Trade Corporation (hereinafter aT) announced that it met with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (hereinafter Eximbank) at the Eximbank headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on the 19th and signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for Strengthening Global Competitiveness and Expanding Exports of K-Food."
According to aT, this agreement was established for mutual cooperation between aT, which possesses a support system covering the entire process of agro-food exports—from production to commercialization, customs clearance, and overseas marketing—and the Export-Import Bank of Korea, which is expanding policy financing to foster K-Food as a new export engine for the Korean economy.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to pursue financial and export support for export companies and overseas buyers, cooperation regarding the ‘K-Food One-Stop Export Support’ hub, support for Korean companies’ entry into emerging markets, and the expansion of information sharing and mutual exchanges between the two institutions.
In particular, as aT plays a key hub role by operating the ‘K-Food One-Stop Export Support Hub,’ a hotline consultation system composed of 14 related organizations and external experts, the addition of the Export-Import Bank of Korea’s policy finance support capabilities is expected to significantly resolve financial and on-site difficulties faced by domestic agri-food export companies and overseas buyers.
Furthermore, by linking the Export-Import Bank of Korea’s on-lending products—customized financial products for entering emerging markets such as Central Asia and Latin America—with aT’s various export support programs—including international food fairs, the Global K-Food Fair, and export consultation meetings for overseas buyers—the two organizations plan to actively support the export expansion of K-Food companies facing difficulties in the initial stages of entering emerging markets.
President Hwang Ki-yeon stated, “A customized platform has been established that effectively links the financial and export support experiences built by both institutions to align with the strategies for expanding exports and overseas presence of K-food companies.” He emphasized, “We will identify promising export companies, promptly resolve their challenges, and foster an agri-food export ecosystem where large corporations and their partners grow together.”
aT President Hong Moon-pyo remarked, “In the rapidly changing international trade environment, organically linking financial and export infrastructure is key to expanding export markets.” He added, “We will do our utmost to further expand our agri-food export territory through our partnership with the Export-Import Bank of Korea.”
Meanwhile, as of the end of May, K-food exports totaled $5.96 billion, continuing to grow steadily with a 7.2% year-on-year increase despite the global trade crisis caused by the Middle East war.
