(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 12월부터 식생활 취약계층을 대상으로 먹거리와 생필품을 지원하는 ‘먹거리 기본보장 시범사업’을 운영 중이라고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 이 사업은 보건복지부가 복지제도 사각지대 등으로 생계가 어려운 시민을 선제적으로 보호하기 위해 추진하는 사업으로 내년 4월까지 시범 운영 후 5월부터는 본사업으로 전환될 예정이다.

인천시에서는 인천시 기부식품등지원센터(광역푸드뱅크)가 참여해 매주 수요일 오전 10~12시 인천사회복지회관(남동구 간석동 소재) 1층에서 시범 운영한다. 

생계가 어려운 시민 누구나 방문하면 매주 50명 범위에서 별도의 신청 절차 없이 라면, 즉석밥, 조미김 등 1인당 3~5개 품목(2만 원 상당)의 먹거리·생필품을 지원받을 수 있다.

시범 운영 기간 동안에는 1인이 최대 2회(월 1회)까지 이용할 수 있고, 재방문 시에는 상담 및 복지서비스 연계를 추진할 계획이다.
