(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 수도권매립지관리공사 노동조합이 지난 8일 오전 세종시 환경부 청사 앞 정문 앞에서 “인천시 이관 반대 및 기후부 폐기물 정책 실패”를 규탄하는 공동 집회를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

수도권매립지 노동조합에 따르면, 이번 집회는 그린에너지, 드림파크문화재단, 공공운수노조, 청주충북환경운동연합 등 유관기관 및 시민사회와 연대, 진행됐으며 공사 노조원을 비롯하여 120여명이 참가했다.

이날 집회는 지난 2015년 4자 합의에 따른 인천시 이관을 반대하고, 기후부의 환경정책 실패에 대한 책임을 촉구하기 위해 이뤄졌다. 

참가자들은 “준비 없는 직매립금지는 쓰레기 대란을 유발할 것”이라며 “기후부는 당장 뒷짐 행정을 중단하고, 실질적인 쓰레기 처리 기반을 마련하라”고 촉구했다.

수도권매립지관리공사 서진욱 노조위원장은 이날 삭발까지 감행하며, “기후부는 무책임한 직매립금지 정책의 대안을 마련하고, 정치적 이관 논의를 당장 중단하라”며 “기후부가 직매립금지 법을 만들고 지자체에게 소각장 건설 책임을 떠 넘긴 채 아무런 정책적, 재정적 지원을 하지 않은 것은 명백한 직무유기”이라고 지적했다. 

또한 “직매립금지의 대안은 민간처리가 아니라며 근본적 대안을 마련하라.”고 덧붙였다.

집회 참석자들은 “기후부가 폐기물처리의 공공성을 포기하고 민영화를 추진하고 있다.”며 “대안 없는 직매립금지는 공공요금 폭등과 쓰레기 대란 불러올 수 밖에 없다.”고 목소리를 높였다.
