인천시교육청에 따르면, ㅠESG경영추진단은 환경(E), 사회(S), 투명경영(G) 분야의 민간 전문가와 교육전문가로 구성되어 있으며, 교육청의 ESG 정책 수립과 실행 전반에 대한 자문을 맡고 있다.

정기회에서는 2025년 지속가능경영보고서 발간 현황, ISO45001(안전보건경영시스템) 인증 추진 상황, 2025년 ESG 경영 및 추진단 운영 평가, 2026년 ESG 경영 방향 등이 주요 안건으로 논의됐다.

도성훈 교육감은 “ESG경영추진단이 제시한 의견을 향후 정책 수립과 실행 과정에 적극 반영하여, 인천광역시교육청이 교육기관으로서 지속 가능한 사회 발전에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 인천시교육청은 2024년에 마련된 ESG 경영 지표를 토대로 2025년 분야별 실천 과제를 정리해 ‘2025년 인천광역시교육청 지속가능경영보고서’를 12월 말 발간할 예정이다.
