부천시에 따르면, 10대 뉴스는 시가 한 해 동안 중점적으로 추진한 15개 사업과 현안을 대상으로 지난 11월 24일부터 12월 1일까지 공식 SNS를 활용해 개인별 5개 항목에 투표하는 방식으로 선정됐으며, 총 2,144명이 참여해 시정에 대한 시민의 높은 관심을 보였다.  

투표 결과 1위는‘부천역 막장 유튜버 OUT’으로 총 1,200표(11%)를 획득했으며, 이는 최근 이슈가 된 부천역 일대의 무분별한 촬영과 소란 행위에 대해 시설개선 및 입법 추진 등 행정역량을 집중시키고 있는 사항으로, 시민들 또한 많은 관심을 보이고 있는 것으로 드러났다.

이어 올해 2월 확정된 ‘부천과학고 유치’가 1,197표(11%)로 2위를 차지했으며, 서부수도권 광역교통 개선을 위한‘소사역 KTX-이음열차 정차 추진’(1,089표)이 그 뒤를 이었다.

아울러,‘부천페이 확대 발행’(1,049표)과 지난 10월 부천자연생태공원에 문을 연 체험형 야간 미디어파크‘부천루미나래 개장’(889표)이 상위권에 올랐다.
