(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 민선 8기 반환점을 앞둔 가운데 안전과 교통, 주거환경 개선 등 구민 삶과 밀접한 분야에 대한 의미 있는 평가가 나왔다고 밝혔다.

남동구에 따르면 민선 8기 2주년을 맞아 최근 SNS와 블로그 등을 통해 일주일에 걸쳐 지난 1년간의 주요 10대 성과 중 세 가지를 꼽는 설문조사를 진행했다.

그 결과 총 3,118명이 참여한 가운데 ‘안전한 거리 조성을 위한 CCTV 확충 및 안심 귀갓길 조성’이 전체의 47.7%인 1,487명의 선택을 받아 1위를 기록했다.

남동구는 아동, 여성 등 사회적 약자 보호를 위해 우범지역 및 어린이보호구역에 연 45개소 이상 CCTV 설치하고 있으며, 취약지역 내 범죄 예방시설 설치로 안전한 보행환경 조성에 주력하고 있다.

또, 지난해 1주년을 기념해 진행한 설문조사 당시 ‘안심 통학로 조성 사업’이 가장 많은 표를 받은 데 이어 2년 연속 ‘안전’ 분야에 높은 평가가 주어졌다.
