(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 18일 시민의 정신적 응급 상황 발생 시 보다 강화된 안전과 보호를 제공하기 위해 ‘인천시 정신응급합동대응센터’를 개소했다고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 센터는 시와 인천경찰청이 협력해 정신건강 위기 평가와 현장 응급대응을 통합하고, 기관 간 역할 중복을 최소화해 효율적으로 대응하기 위해 설치됐다.

개소식에는 박병철 시 문화복지수석, 한진호 인천자치경찰위원장, 이준형 생활안전부장을 비롯해 인천광역정신건강복지센터와 인천광역시자살예방센터 등 관련 기관의 실무자들도 함께해, 센터의 역할과 기능, 발전 방향에 대한 의견을 나눴다.

센터는 인천광역정신건강복지센터 응급개입팀 16명과 인천경찰청 현장지원팀 7명으로 구성돼 있으며, 인천 IT타워(미추홀구 경인로 229) 5층에 위치하고 있다. 

경찰과 정신건강전문요원이 시민들의 긴급한 요구에 24시간 신속히 대응할 계획이다.

센터는 정신 응급상황이 발생하면 정신과적 위기 평가와 보호조치, 응급입원 등을 동시에 진행하고, 현장 출동부터 사후 조치까지 한팀으로 움직이면서 보다 신속한 처리 등 현장 대응이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 

한편, 인천시는 경찰, 소방, 정신의료기관과 ‘정신응급대응 협의체’를 구성해 유기적으로 대응하고 있으며, 24시간 자살예방 및 정신건강위기상담 전화을 통해 지난해 2만 1,418건을 상담했고, 1,227건의 응급출동을 하는 등 즉각적이고 효과적인 위기개입 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

On the 18th, Incheon City announced that it had opened the ‘Incheon City Mental Emergency Joint Response Center’ to provide enhanced safety and protection in the event of a mental emergency for citizens.

According to Incheon City, the center was established to cooperate between the city and the Incheon Police Agency to integrate mental health crisis assessment and on-site emergency response, and to respond efficiently by minimizing role overlap between agencies.
